Abstract This work is an articulated and comprehensive evaluation on problems and challenges facing Finance Houses in the Nigeria economy. An appraisal of our experience in this area will certainly provide useful insight into an understanding of why we are where we are. This appears the main focus and reason why this topic has been chosen. To make for easy and clear understanding, this study also attempt to investigate the extent housing finance have been able to fulfill their objective in real estate property development in Nigeria with its capital population growth. Finance houses on this stance streamed as a streaming line to accelerate real property and industrial development programmes of the federal government of Nigeria in order to help cushion the real estate and surplus fund from small and big savers who have no immediate need such find and disburse the fund or disbursement of beneficiary (borrowers) and estate developers or disbursement of loan on the pledge of their interest in property as a collateral security it therefore become necessary to examine together the problems and challenges encountered by finance houses in the development of the economy. Finally, finance houses institutions have contributed in no small measure to real estate property development in Nigeria through the provision of accommodation on residential, commercial and industrial properties for those who would have been unable to own a property today. It has helped in the overall infrastructural development and as well provides job opportunities for professional developers, artisans and government of Nigeria.
