The study was carried out to examine the effect of information technology on organizational productivity in banking sector using First Bank of Nigeria Plc, Oron Road by Plaza Uyo. To achieve this objective, three research questions and two research hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The data was collected from primary and secondary sources of data. The primary data were collected with the help of a well-structured questionnaire of two sections administered to staff of First Bank of Nigeria Plc, Uyo. The collected data were analyzed with tables and simple percentages to analyze the research questions while Chi-square statistical tool was used to test research hypotheses. The study reveals that there is a significant relationship between information technology and organizational productivity in banking sector. The study concluded with some recommendations that the Nigerian banks should give emphasis on efficient utilization of the ICT equipment such as credit and electronic cards to pay at retail outlets, points of sales (POS), phone banking, electronic payment debit, cash withdrawal machines that becomes Automated Teller Machines (ATM), home banking, internet banking, mobile banking, personal digital assistant banking rather than purchase of new ones.
