Abstract –
This study tries to analyze the determinants ofginger (Zingiber Officinale Rosc) in Boloso Bombe andKindo Koisha woredas of Wolaita zone in SNNPR Hence, theMultiple Linear Regression Model was employed to seefactors that determine the supply of ginger. The study hasevaluated the main factors affecting the supply of gingerbased on the Multiple Linear Regression Model. Thus, theeconometric model has identified the amount of introducedseed made available for farmers to be the most importantvariable affecting (positively) the supply of ginger. As aresult, the findings of this work have suggested ResearchInstitutions, NGOs and other stockholders can play a vitalrole in addressing the farmers’ question of introduced seed.Further, the number of livestock owned significantly andpositively affected the volume of ginger supplied. The resultsof this manuscript also suggested building household assets(i.e. livestock) through household asset building programswill remedy the case. But income from other sources (excludeginger) adversely affected the amount of ginger supplied. Thus, the findings pointed out that farmers should compareand contrast between the two and decide accordingly. Hence, extension workers and other concerned bodies were expectedto play valuable roles in teaching and directing the farmersso as they opt effectively and efficiently.
