INTRODUCTION
A library is a room or building containing books that can be looted at. Or is a collection of books and other material kept for reading, studying and consultation. It is basically a service institution, a social engine propelling the wheels of knowledge, to read to know and to obtain information. The library is a growing organization. This is true for the fact that the materials in the library grow with information explosion and awareness and clientele seeking them.
The IMT library divided into four major classifications which include:
REFERENCE SECTION: A reference library is that which contain books to be consulted for information there but not to be taken away. A reference library contains mainly books that can be used to make reference. A reference book is one that is not read through, but consulted for information. Example a dictionary or encyclopedia books and materials provided here must of necessity be on hand for consultation at any time, therefore they are not as a rule available for loan.
In reference section, if user comes to make reference, the librarian on the duty will direct the person cannot find it, the librarian will ask for the name of the book, the classification and author, and will then check on the book catalogue. If the book is then found, the user will then collect his information because the section away. The section allows photocopy of the reference material to make and then they will be registered and the user pays for the services. The payment per copy of the photocopied material if five naira (N 5).

PUBLICATION SERVICES: This under takes the responsibility of the registration of reader charging and discharging of materials (books) reserve and reference services.
COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT: Ordering and purchase of materials.
