ABSTRACT

This research focused on the impact of poverty on democratic consolidation in Ohaukwu Local government Area of Ebonyi State, the objectives were to ascertain if poverty is instrumental to the poor consolidation of democracy in Ohaukwu local Government Area, to find out if the poor nature of the electorates makes them prone to manipulations by politicians. The methodology used was inferential and descriptive statistics. Marx theory of poverty was employed as its theoretical the framework of analysis.
