ABSTRACT

This project examines the nature of relations between the Tiv and Bette over the span of three decades. This study was carried out to reconstruct the history of inter-group relations and from it discern what lessons can be learnt with view of strengthening the more positive aspects of their relationship in the future.  It also stands to put out clearly the rem Finally, this study comes to show the different boundaries theories and Likened it to the fact that boundaries are artificial and not naturalote/immediate cause of the conflict between the Bette (Obudu) and Mbadukue (Tiv) people of Cross River State and Benue state. This study aim at showing how disputes are very destructive to the growth and development of communities, and up to the extent of destroying a long term built unity.
