ABSTRACT
This study was carried out to investigate personnel recruitment in public organization with a particular reference to Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State, 1999-2010. To achieve this objective, four research questions and two research hypotheses were formulated to guide this study. The data collected were analyzed using simple percentages and tables to analyze research questions and Chi-square statistical tool was used for testing of research hypotheses. A structured questionnaire was used as the major instrument for data collection from the management staff of Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State. After the careful analysis of the data, the following findings were revealed that; there are problems concerning recruitment, selection and placement in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State and there is a effectiveness of recruitment and selection pressures used by Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State. The study concluded with some recommendations that the Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State should realize that recruitment is the discovery of potential candidates for actual or anticipated organization vacancies or recruitment involves the process of estimating present and future workforce needs, finding sources of potential and suitable workers and creating on adequate supply of applicant at all time.
