ABSTRACT
This study investigated Parental Influence and Academic Performance of Biology Students in BiaseLocal Government Area of Cross River State. To achieve the purpose of this study, five research questions were formulated as well as five null hypothesis to guide the study. The sample size of the study was two hundred (200). The instrument used for data collection was a modified four points likert type questionnaire and Biology Achievement test. Simple random sampling techniques was used to select the sample for the study. All the variables were subjected to test at 0.05 level of significance with 198 degree of freedom, using independent t-test. Analysis’ the rest finding of the study shows that all the· variables, parental income, parental education qualification, family size, parenting style significantly influence the academic performance of Biology students. Based on the results recommendations where made that government should educate and create awareness for the people on the importance of raising the size of family that they can cater for effectively, equally, the people should embrace the monogamous marriage and imbibe the concept of family planning based on available resources, some suggestions were made for further research.
