CHAPTER ONE

1.0. INTRODUCTION

The aims of this research work are to examine the idea of working in partnership with the aim of achieving desired or stated objective, which forms the topic of this research work. Effects of team work in health care delivery system.

Teamwork is defined as a group of people working together, while team work done by requirement to be done by person or group of person with the purpose of achieving a desired or stated goal. The modern health facility today employs team work.

Team work is not only applicable in the health care sector but also in other organized bodies. It is obvious that it is only when there is team work, that objective could be achieved both in health delivery and related fields.

The team “health” is itself is a complex term especially as it is defined by the world health organization as the state of complete physical, mental and social well-being of an individual and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. In other words, it means that when one is physically ill he or she is unhealthy. The issue of the health must be holistic in the early days, the body of knowledge about health and disease was so limited that one individual could absorb it all assume full respond for health. The health facility were limited to medical care but today new type of disease and health problem have grown beyond the scope of medical care alone, but due to government desire to achieve this ideal state of health for citizens, she had to take a broad approach in tackling the problem of disease hunger, want and other the same deprivation that affect the states in ways or the other.
